Mount Abu Hill Station

Mount Abu Hill Station is one of the popular hill stations of India and is visited by lots of people. It is the only hill station in the state of Rajasthan and is located at the south west end of Rajasthan. It is also a well known pilgrimage destination of India, as the famous Dilwara Jain temples are situated over here.

The weather in Mount Abu Hill Station is fluctuating both in summer and winter months. Te rainy season is from July to mid of September and remains very humid during this time which sometime reaches 90% humidity. So, the best time to visit Mount Abu Hill Station is from February to June and during September and December.

Mount Abu Hill Station was once a part of the Chauhan Kingdom of Rajasthan, which served as a summer resort to the Rajput kings of that region. British government leashed it the Maharaja of Sirohi to use it as the headquarter of the resident. It was the most favorite summer destination of the Britishers, who used to come here to escape from dry and dusty Rajasthan.

Mount Abu Hill Station was also home to sages and saints. There is a legend that 330 million gods and goddesses used to visit this holy mountainous place. The great saint, Vashishth performed yagna to protect earth from the demons.

Abu Road is the nearest railway station which is connected with Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Jodhpur and Mumbai.
