Nainital Hill Station is set around the beautiful Naini Lake, in the Gagar range in Central Himalayas. The altitude of Nainital Hill Station is 1958 m above sea level. It is one of the well known and sought after hill stations of India. Nainital was refuge during British period, who used to visit this place to escape from dust and heat of the plains. The Nainital, is derived from 'Naini' meaning 'Eyes' and 'Taal' meaning 'Lake'. The word Naini is from the famous temple of Naina Devi, situated above Naini Lake.
The best time to visit Nainital Hill Station is during the summer months, from March to June. But, you can also go during September and October. The nearest airport is Pant Nagar, 71 kms from Nainital.
